Fine Art Limited Edition Photos by Raj Barua
Fine Arts Photographer, Raj Barua, has generously donated the proceeds of 10/21 limited edition, high quality photo prints, of these five fine art photos for Day of the Girl.
Raj used traditional analog photography methods to create these images. This allows him to slow down and appreciate beauty, he says, “in this fast paced world of imagery where instant gratification is encouraged”. Naturally drawn to the Himalayas, he has a deep relationship with the mountains and its people who have become his extended family. In his words, “When I am there, I am there; in the midst of the village people this self-fixation mind disappears and what remains is only them.”
“No matter where we are, who we are, and what background we belong to, in essence there is no difference. The only difference that demarcates fortunate and less fortunate ones is ‘opportunity’. However this seemingly one word decides who the world will look up to and who will become a forgotten entity. And more often than not, a girl has to bear the consequences of our attitudes.” - Raj Barua
Raj Barua is a photographer based in India without any fixed location and moves whichever direction calls him. Finding solace in the simplicity of mountain life he moved to India after spending much of his life in Canada and that inspired him to connect with his roots.
All proceeds are dedicated to Lotus Outreach beneficiaries and the International Day of the Girl campaign goal.
