We are thrilled that our team of seven interns from UWC-Atlantic College, a school that promotes transformative education for global impact, is joining us to celebrate the Day of the Girl with Lotus Outreach. For six months, this talented group of students has supported LO team projects, driven by their desire to make a difference.

We’d like to thank them for their dedication and for inspiring us with their vision of a more equitable future.

ACHILLES

I dream of a world where…

Girls can have the opportunity to pursue the things that they dream of, to have a good education, to take on careers that they are passionate about without any sort of financial or social constraints.

I dream of a world where they can dream of things that are much bigger and bolder than they’ve ever imagined.

BIANCA

This is important for me because social progress is made possible in a world where women have been given a voice, and this vision is fulfilled through Lotus Outreach’s education and empowerment initiatives. Women all over the world have the ability to drive positive change; they just need to have a push towards their full potential. This is why Lotus Outreach invests its resources into giving women opportunities to realize an equal vision of the world. Working behind the scenes of these projects has been valuable and personal to me as a woman whose voice has been ignored on the grounds of my gender. We need to empower women and deconstruct the gender divide.

JOON

I support LO because I am a woman, and I recognize the issues that millions of women face across the globe every single day.

LO is a transformative force that empowers women and children, and supporting LO means investing in a future where every girl and every woman has a chance to live the life they deserve.

ALEXIA

I believe girls have the ability to exceed expectations, maximize potential, and push against societal boundaries.

It is within our ability as a society to ensure they feel protected and supported to foster overall empowerment so that is why we should be working our hardest to uplift women to positions of power and leadership.

GRACE

The biggest challenge I see in the world today is the lack of equal opportunities for women and girls.

Despite the progress we've made, too many women are still held back by societal expectations, unequal access to education, and limited economic resources.

NICHOLE

Advocating for equality ensures that everyone has access to the same opportunities, rights, and resources, regardless of their background. It promotes a just and inclusive society by breaking down barriers like discrimination and bias, allowing people to succeed based on their abilities.

Equality strengthens social cohesion, reduces conflict, and creates a fairer world where everyone is valued. Because when women succeed, we all succeed.

Join me today, on the Day of the Girl, in empowering girls around the world, giving them the opportunity, education, and voice they deserve.
